Since 2006, the IDM sector has grown at a compound annual growth rate of 20% with a corresponding employment growth of around 15%. Singapore’s investments in IDM R&D have helped companies push the envelope of innovation, and we are starting to see the emergence of competitive niches with world-class IDM companies in the 3 broad areas of Rich Media & Publishing, Mobile Media, and Virtual Worlds & Games.

Through IDMPO’s industry and start-up support, grassroots innovation is well and alive; with emerging start-ups and companies vigorously working to launch or reinvent themselves to grow market share, revenues, and user base.

To strengthen local capabilities and ensure that Singapore remains at the cutting edge of IDM R&D, IDMPO has put in place a network of local and international research institutions, boasting renowned partners from Europe, US, and Asia where research collaborations with the best of East-West technology, talent, and imagination will continually push the edge and stimulate breakthroughs for technology’s next frontier.
