MDA-Scrawl Studios Partnership Announces New Animation Projects

Award-winning Singapore animation company Scrawl Studios, in collaboration with the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA), announced on Tuesday five new co-production deals amounting to US$13.5 million (S$19 million).

The co-productions will involve international partners from Canada, France and Taiwan. Together, they will co-produce up to five animation titles aimed at a global audience over a period of five years.

Tiny Island to Collaborate on 3D Animated Film

Singapore animated film and television production company Tiny Island Productions and Thai-based entertainment producing company Shellhut Entertainment have announced their plans to co-produce a 3D stereoscopic CG animated film, targeted for release in 2012.

The 90-minute feature is based on the television series Shelldon, created by Shellhut Entertainment. Season One of the series, released last year, has been aired by major broadcasters such as NBC USA and France 5, with television and home entertainment distribution deals signed across more than 100 countries.
