Singapore Impresses with 3D and Digital Media Capabilities at BroadcastAsia

The Singapore Pavilion is once again a hot spot at BroadcastAsia, thanks to the cutting-edge stereoscopic 3D and digital media solutions from the 55-strong contingent led by the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA).

BroadcastAsia, the region’s leading trade event for digital media and entertainment technologies, began its three-day run yesterday. Hosted by MDA, this year’s event features a total of 620 exhibitors from 41 countries.

At the Singapore Pavilion, which is themed Future of Media, Singapore companies have unveiled a suite of innovative offerings that are expected to shape the future media landscape.

Singapore Gears Up for Next-Gen Media

The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) has rolled out several initiatives that will help germinate the development and delivery of next-generation consumer applications and services.

This was announced yesterday by Mr Lui Tuck Yew, Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, in his address at the opening ceremony of the Infocomm Media Business Exchange (imbX).

These initiatives include a one-year 3DTV trial across terrestrial, cable and Internet Protocol platforms.

Advancing Ties with Korea, China and Europe

Closer cooperation between Singapore and Korea in the area of media content regulation is on the horizon.

This follows yesterday’s signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation for a Safer Broadcasting and Communications Environment between the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) and the Korea Communications Standards Commission, the country’s media arbitration commission.
