Singapore and international media industry professionals converged at the Singapore Party to unwind and make connections.

Closer cooperation between Singapore and Korea in the area of media content regulation is on the horizon.

This follows yesterday’s signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation for a Safer Broadcasting and Communications Environment between the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) and the Korea Communications Standards Commission, the country’s media arbitration commission.

Inked at the Singapore Party yesterday evening at BroadcastAsia 2010, the MOU will serve as an important platform for information exchange on matters of mutual interest to both countries. It will also be the basis on which cooperation and best practices relating to media content regulation will be developed.

The Singapore Party was an occasion to cement ties and enjoy friendly conversations for more than 150 international media industry professionals, who came to unwind and network after a long day of meetings and deal-making.

The attendees were also witness to the signing of two other MOUs, both involving Alternative Content Distribution Network (ACDN). ACDN will be collaborating with FCCE Distribution, an international distribution and consultancy company, to create a global digital content depository in Singapore with a back-up site in Europe.

With Shenzhen Temobi Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd., a China-based mobile internet platform solutions provider, ACDN will be forming a joint venture to distribute digital content globally using Temobi’s mobile platform technology.
