Singapore Firms Head to MIPTV

The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) leads delegation to Cannes to promote Made-by-Singapore content to international distributors and broadcasters.

MDA's ninth expedition to MIPTV 2009 saw many firsts.

On the opening day of the event, MDA's Chief Executive Officer, Dr Christopher Chia, as well as the management of Jim Henson and BIG Communications, had a Kodak moment with Buddy, the lead character of Dinosaur Train, which is being co-produced between Jim Henson and BIG Communications and supported by MDA.

A children's programme, Dinosaur Train has secured sales in Norway and Canada, with broadcasters from Nickelodeon Australia, Germany's Super RTL and France 5 also expressing interest to purchase this 40-episode animated series.

This year, MDA leads a delegation of at least eight Singapore companies to promote Made-by-Singapore content to international distributors and broadcasters. This comprises a strong slate of original animation intellectual properties as well as high-definition factual programming, totalling more than 313 hours.
